Reliance To Provide More Employment In Bengal: Mukesh Ambani


Kolkata: “I am seeing a new Kolkata. Now Bengal means business”, Mukesh Ambani address in Bengal Global Business Summit that has been inaugurated by honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Newtown.

Tuesday morning has marked the biggest global event of the city of joy, Bengal Global Business Summit(BGBS) at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Newtown. Presence of eminent industrialists and tycoons like Mukesh Ambani, Sajjan Jindal, Lakhsmi Niwas Mittal, and Harsh Neotia have brought a new hope for the future of business in Bengal. Representatives from 30 countries have participated at this event.

In the very first speech Mukesh Ambani has made few important announcements on ‘Jio’. He promised, ‘Reliance Jio’ connection will reach every corner of West Bengal within December.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday said his company will invest Rs 5,000 crore in West Bengal in businesses such as petroleum and retail. “The investment will be made over the next three years and also promote electronic industry by manufacturing mobile phones and set top boxes, Ambani said at the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit which began in Kolkata.”

He also added that RIL has already pumped in Rs 15,000 crore in the telecom business in the state although it had earlier committed to invest Rs 4,500 crore. This was made possible due to conducive business environment in the state under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Ambani said.
