New Delhi: Ravi Shastri’s contract as Team Director has been extended till the ICC World T20 2016, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Sunday.
Based on the recommendations of the cricket advisory committee, the tenures of assistant coaches Sanjay Bangar (batting), Bharat Arun (bowling) and R Sridhar (fielding) have also been extended till the event.
Shastri, and the three assistant coaches, had been brought in during the limited-overs leg of the England tour in August 2014 after India had lost the Test series. Their terms were then extended till the end of the World Cup.
The World T20 will be played in India for the first time from March 11 to April 3, 2016.
