Ravi Shankar goes “The Yoga Way” at Brussels


Brussels: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call at the United Nations for an International Day of Yoga recoiled on the European parliament on Tuesday with globally recognized guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar leading a major yoga event.

“The Yoga Way” event was organized by the Indian embassy in Brussels in correspondence with the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with India.

The yogi’s discourse, interactive sessions, and relaxing and meditation exercises generated a buzz among the diverse audience coprising of European Parliament, Union and ambassadors from various countries.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was received at the European Prliament by Puri and members of European Parliament Geoffrey Van Orden, Nirj Deva, Neena Gill, Jo Leinen and Alojz Peterle.

The European People’s Party, the largest political group in the concerned Parliament said, “Sri Sri’s presence in the European Parliament has been a true inspiration for European leaders to strongly engage in more inter-cultural dialogue that would lead towards non-violent societies”.
