Mumbai: After her cameo appearance in the box office dub, ‘Bombay Velvet’, Raveena Tandon will be seen on the big screen again.
‘The Mother,’ starring the beloved actress, is all set to hit theatres on 21st April.
Written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, this crime thriller drama is produced under the banners of CDB Musical in association with Anjum Rizvi Film Co., Manoj Adhikari Production and Pugmark Films Pvt Ltd.
Raveena will be seen essaying the role of a mother in the film, which also features actor Madhur Mittal, of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame, as antagonist. The film delves on the road to justice for women who are victims of violence and rape.
The makers believe it is a big concern for the society and the failure of our system in providing justice is astonishing. The film had earlier been titled ‘Matr’.
“I found the script very gratifying, as it showed how one can deal with criminals indulging in crime against women, while remaining on the right side of the law. As a society we need to change our laws to protect women,” Raveena had said.
