New Delhi: Leading industrialist Ratan Tata said on Saturday that his Twitter account was hacked and a “spurious” tweet with “malicious intent” was sent on Friday.
“Shocked that my Twitter account was hacked yesterday and a spurious malicious was wrongly attributed to me. This spurious tweet has now been deleted and my Twitter account restored. I regret the inconvenience that this malicious and wrongful action may have caused,” he tweeted.
Netizens were surprised by the tweet by the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons considering that he is not very active on Twitter.
Mr Tata’s previous tweets are dated September 1, February 21 and December 28, 2015. He has 6.13 million followers and has 119 tweets since he joined the microblogging platform in April 2011.
