New Delhi: Two more people have been arrested from Noida in connection with the rape case against absconding Samajwadi Party minister Gayatri Prajapati.
Prajapati has accused of raping a woman and molesting her daughter. The Special Task Force arrested Ashok Tiwari and Ashish Shukla from Noida. They are being brought to Lucknow.
Yesterday, in the first major headway in the case, police had arrested Prajapati’s gunner Chandrapal Singh.
“Chandrapal (Prajapati’s PSO) was arrested near Police Lines in Lucknow,” Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Shivram Yadav told.
There is still no trace of the whereabouts of Prajapati, who has been at large for over a week. Meanwhile, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh should be taught a “lesson for not taking action” against its rape accused minister Gayatri Prajapati.
“No action has been taken against the minister. This type of government should be taught a lesson,” he said.
Apart from Venkaiah, even BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have lashed out at the Samajwadi Party for not acting promptly against Prajapati.
