Mumbai: Just when few days are left before Rangoon releases, the film’s technical members has reportedly cut the movie’s length by atleast 40 minutes.
A few days before the release of Rangoon, director Vishal Bhardwaj, along with his team, has re-edited the eagerly-awaited film and brought down its length by nearly 40 minutes. The original length of the film was two hours, forty-seven minutes.
The change was made after the film was certified by the CBFC, to make the film tighter and more viewer-friendly. Says a source close to the development, “Everyone in the team feels that Rangoon has turned out to be very special. But at nearly three hours of playing time, the film was seen to be too long for today’s generation. Vishal and his producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18 have voluntarily decided to bring the length down by more than half an hour.”
Rangoon is slated to release on 24th February 2017.
