New Delhi: Aimed at Rakhi 2017, BSNL or Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced a new limited-period scheme to its prepaid users.
Under its special tariff voucher, called ‘Rakhi pe Saugat’, BSNL is offering 1GB of high speed data over a validity of seven days. Priced at Rs. 74, BSNL’s ‘Rakhi pe Saugat’ voucher is targeting customers celebrating the festival of Rakhi or ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
The Rakhi recharge pack of Rs. 74 comes with unlimited on-net calling – which means BSNL-to-BSNL local and STD calls – and 1GB data, the state-run telecom operator said on microblogging site Twitter.
Besides 1 GB of 2G/3G data, BSNL’s ‘Rakhi pe Saugat’ also includes 74 minutes of off-net calling – which means calls from BSNL to other networks. Bharat Sanchar Nigam’s Rakhi offer of Rs. 74 was made available from August 3, 2017.
BSNL is among many telecom operators that have announced new data tariffs and plans in the recent months. Ever since Reliance Jio’s entry in the telecom sector – with its free calls offers and competitive data tariffs – incumbent operators have come up with new schemes, in their bid to protect market share.
Jio has extended its ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ offer with some new recharge packs. Jio is offering 1GB of 4G data for 84 days (three recharge cycles) along with unlimited voice calls and SMSs at Rs. 399, among other options.
In another newly introduced recharge pack of Rs. 349, Jio is also offering 20 GBs of data for 56 days (two recharge cycles) without any daily usage cap.
