Kolkata: Rakesh Tiwari, former Justice of Allahabad High Court will hold the position of the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court from 20th September.
Mrs. Nishita Mhatre, Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court will be retired from her post and Tiwari will take the charges of the post.
As per the source of Court, Tiwari was transferred to Calcutta High Court on Mar 21, 2016. He did his graduation in Commerce and then did his LL.B. from Allahabad University. He was enrolled as the member of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council on 20th July, 1984.
Later he was appointed as the Advocate for Central Government Undertaking, Corporations, Banks, Local Bodies and Premier Companies and then elevated as permanent Judge.
Earlier on Friday the Centre has approved six of the seven names recommended by the Supreme Court collegiums as judges of the Calcutta High Court.
