New Delhi: Union home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that Social Harmony is in the DNA of the NDA adding fuel to the war of words between BJP and JD (U) over the the issue of DNA spoken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar.
He said, “Peaceful co-existence and social harmony are not only ingrained in India but also in NDA. One may ask how these two qualities are in the DNA of NDA. It is proved. Social harmony and peaceful co-existence are our commitment not our compulsion.”
He was releasing three books penned down by Prime Minister including one on social harmony. He even reminded that BJP doesn’t leave its allies saying that BJP needed allies when Atal Behari Vajpayee government was formed as it was short of numbers, but in 2014 they got absolute majority. He said, “It is due to the fact that social harmony and peaceful existence are in our DNA that we decided to form the government with our allies with whom we had fought elections.”
Addressing BJP’s first ‘Parivartan rally’ at Muzaffarpur on July 25, Modi had made the DNA comment against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
