Rajasthan ATS Arrests Suspected ISIS Agent


Jodhpur: Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested ISIS agent named Sirajuddin from Rajasthan’s Jaharnagar area on Thursday night. According to police, Sirajuddin worked at Bengaluru Indian Oil Company. He works at Marketing Department.

Police also said that Sirajuddin spread IS net through social media and internet. The arrest created ripples in the heart of the metropolis. The security of the city life now faced a big question mark.

Officials of ATS were getting concrete information on the activities of the man identified as Mohammed Sirazudin for the last three months. “We were also following the Facebook page and other social networking apps for the past three months. Based on various scientific evidences we have first apprehended the youth and finally arrested him under appropriate sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.”

ATS officials have also seized some objectionable material from his residence in Jaipur. “We have seized a number of issues of ISIS’ online magazine “Dabik”, pictures, and video from the possession of the youth,” he added.

The accused would be produced before a court on Thursday. Asked if more arrests are likely in this connection, a senior officer, said, “Possibly from various other parts of the country as not much from the state,” said an officer.
