Kolkata: BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha on Friday lodged an FIR against a news portal at the Jorasanko police station and took a dig at some “deliberate attempt” to malign his image.
“Stories are making rounds about me and Mukul Roy. These are deliberate attempts from some quarters,” he said at the BJP public rally on Rani Rasmoni Road on Friday. Sinha reacted to news that reported he had met a central Kolkata Trinamool MP. “They have said that Rahul Sinha had a meeting with a Trinamool Congress leader. It is baseless and I have lodged a police complaint against the portal that has published the story,” he said.
Sinha, who welcomed Roy during the former Trinamool leader’s first public rally with BJP, said that he had opposed bringing him to the party two years back. “This time the central leadership has consulted me thrice. I did not object to it this time. The fight this time is to save Bengal and nobody is an outsider today,” he said.
