New Delhi: After nearly two months of disappearance, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday made his first public appearance since his return by declaring that he will oppose the Land acquisition bill and visited the farmers.
Holding two interactive sessions with the farmers at his residence, Rahul Gandhi said them that he and his party will will fight a ‘decisive battle’ on farmer’s issues including the Modi Government’s Land Acquisition bill.
He asked the farmers regarding their views of the land acquisition bill and the damage done to the crops due to the untimely rains.
After meeting the Congress Vice President the farmers said that people who had no understanding of the grassroot issues and knowledge of the agriculture are engaged in drafting policies for them whether its BJP led NDA government or Congress led UPA government.
Rahul has decided to talk about the issue at the Kisan rally on Sunday and he could intervene on it in the 2nd part of the budget session which commences on Monday.
