Rahul Gandhi undertakes 10 kilomtre Padyatra to meet farmers


Janjgir: Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi began his 10-kilometre padyatra in Chattishgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district to reach out to the farmers and tribals who have been affected by various projects.

Gandhi started his march from Saradih village at around 9:45 Am along with a large number of party workers and other senior leaders. He is in the final phase of his two day visit to the state.

The rally will pass through 10-12 villages and will conclude at Dabhra where he will be addressing a public rally in the afternoon.

During his rally the congress vice president will be stoping at various places and will be meeting farmers who has lost their land to power plants in the district but also interact with villagers affected by the Polavaram dam project, Kanhar dam project and upcoming new capital Raipur. Gandhi is on a two-day visit to the state since June 15 as part of his nationwide campaign for the cause of farmers.
