Kolkata: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has summoned the West Bengal Pradesh Congress leadership for a crucial meeting in Delhi on February 1.
As per reports, Rahul has summoned Pradesh Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Pradip Bhattachrya, Abdul Mannan, Manas Bhunia, Omprakash Mishra and Abu Hasem.
The key focus in the meeting will be a likely anti-Trinamool alliance between and CPI (M) for the 2016 West Bengal Assembly elections.
Pradesh Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury addressing the media on Friday has said that many supporters in his party and CPI (M) has voiced for a coalition to fight the Mamata Banerjee led TMC party.
Omprakash Mishra, supporting the idea of a likely coalition between Congress and CPM has said that the coalition will easily win over 160 seats in the elections.
However, Congress leader Manas Bhunia is clearly seemed to be against the coalition and has voiced his opposition earlier. On Friday when asked about his opinion on the alliance, he tactically replied that he will abide by the decision of the party.
