Rahul Gandhi Signs Visitor Book For ‘Non-Hindus’ At Temple

Gujarat: In a big goof up, the Congress’ media coordinator signed in the party Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s name in the register meant for non-Hindus, during his visit to the Somnath Temple in Gujarat.

According to a report by national media Times Now visuals accessed by Times Now shows Rahul Gandhi’s name signed under senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel’s name in the visitors’ book meant for non-Hindus. The other register meant for Hindu devotees contains the name of party media coordinator Manoj Tyagi.

The BJP has now asked the Congress vice president to explain whether this was a gaffe or whether it is a fact that he is not a Hindu.

Rahul’s Somnath visit has already triggered a massive row with Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioning his ‘hypocrisy,’ stating that Jawaharlal Nehru had opposed the construction of the temple in the first place.

“Today some people are remembering Somanth, I have to ask them – have you forgotten your history? Your family members, our first PM was not happy with the idea of a temple being built there,” the Prime Minister stated, addressing a rally in Morbi in the poll-bound state.
