Rahul attends Sanitation workers Protest, takes on Modi

New Delhi: Attending a protest meeting of sanitation workers at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi took on the Narendra Modi led NDA Government on the issue of development and land acquisition. Addressing the rally he said, “I’m not just speaking about sanitation workers. But I’m addressing all weaker sections of the society,”

Referring to his two day Chattishgarh visit he said that a coal mine owner earns rupees One crore everyday while farmers are shooed off with just rupees 50,000 when his land is destroyed.

He also said, “The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, thinks he can make any sort of promise. When the army of India (workers and farmers) stands, nobody can challenge you. We will ensure that your demands are met.”

This is the third address to the sanitation workers by Rahul Gandhi who had been on a strike last week over non-payment of salary. Rahul has expressed solidarity with them by joining with them at the protest site.
