New Delhi: Countering BJP and, in particular, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wonder at what the Congress has achieved in the last 70 years, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said the country knows the contribution of Congress.
“The BJP and our Prime Minister are in the habit of saying or asking what the Congress party did for 70 years. People of this country understand what Congress did and didn’t do in last 70 years. People understand the blood and tears our leaders have given to this country,” said Rahul.
Rahul went on to claim that “acche din” will come back when Congress returns to power in 2019. He further stepped up the attack and said BJP, RSS and Narendra Modi have weakened institutions like RBI.
Tearing into PM’s various schemes and initiatives, Rahul said: “The PM can do yoga very well, but have you noticed he cannot do the padmasana (lotus position)? I notice these things. Similarly, when he went with a broom to talk about cleaning up India, did you see how he was holding the broom? Nothing gets cleaned if you hold the broom like that.”
After the demonetisation decision, Rahul alleged that PM modi is hiding behind home-made economists like Baba Ramdev and Mohan Bhagwat.
Reacting to the speech BJP spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh said that Rahul Gandhi is a joke.
“The problem is Rahul needs to grow up and get out of his diapers. He needs to move out of his mother’s lap,” Singh told. Rahul Gandhi was speaking at the Congress National convention in Delhi.
