Rio De Janeiro: India shuttler PV Sindhu continued her good run at the Rio Games as she produced a dominating display on Tuesday to upset world no 2 Wang Yihan in straight games and enter women’s singles semi-finals.
Facing the Chinese, Sindhu won 22-20, 21-19 in a seesaw battle that lasted 54 minutes. Sindhu will now face either of the two Japanese Nozomi Okuhara or Akane Yamaguchi for a place in the finals on Thursday.
The world no 10 Indian has been in terrific form all through the Olympics and it was evident from her game as she dominated Yihan in the second game after gaining momentum in the opener. She has also improved her head to head record against Yihan to 3-4.
