Goal aggregate: 3-3. PSG moves to quarters by away goal system
London: PSG came from behind twice to take revenge for last season’s quarter-final exit at the hands of Chelsea – showing great character to play for the last hour of normal time and the added 30 minutes without talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he had been sent off for a foul on Oscar.
As Cahill scored in the 81st minute, Stamford Bridge breathed a sigh but not for long. The Brazilian ace, David Luiz equalized for Paris Saint Germain in the 86th minute. It was 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes. As the extra time started, Eden Hazard scored from a penalty and increased the lead for Chelsea. But Thiago Silva in 116th minute scored from Paris St G to knock off Chelsea from the Champion’s League.
Chelsea went forward to the next level in the championship due to the away goal advantage. Although it was the same in the goal aggregate as Paris St G scored two away goals compared to Chelsea’s one, the French side moved to the quarter finals.
