Protests in Srinagar demanding permanent status to Govt employees

Sriganar: Violent protests erupted in Srinagar on Thursday as the contractual government employees took the streets demanding the permanent status to their service. They clashed with police when they were stopped at Pratap Park.

Demanding regularization of their services hundreds of contractual workers marched towards the secretariat including the payment of their pending salaries. The cops used tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the protesters.
