Kolkata: The commuters go through a lot of difficulty in reaching to their destinations, courtesy auto menace. Unreasonable hike in auto prices have lead to the passengers to resort to protest at Bidhannagar on Monday morning. The commuters blocked the road in protest to the daily auto menace in the city.
The passengers have alleged that there is no fixed rate of the auto rides. It is very difficult to board the buses during this big busy hour of the day. Hence they have to take auto as the only option and has to pay unnecessarily more.
The passengers started protesting at Bidhannagar based on these allegations since Monday morning. Maximum are office goers who has to go to Sector V or Karunamoyee. They have alleged that there are no fixed rates. Even if one refuses to give such a hiked price, the auto drivers refuse to go. As a result, the office-goers reach
late to their office.
The protest started at 9:45 am near bus stand number 15. They stopped buses and
autos and started protesting. As a result, a traffic situation broke out and lead to the disruption of transport services. Heavy traffic has been reported at EM Bypass.
