New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee is all set to visit Israel in October, the first visit by an Indian head of the state since diplomatic ties were established between the two nations in 1992. The President is first stop at Jordon, the Palestine and finally Israel. The dates of the President’s visit which are being worked upon are October 11-16.
The President’s comes ahead of the much awaited visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was announced by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. It is being expected that prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Israel next year.
The President will be visiting Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, and Yad Vashem, the holocaust memorial. The Israeli President will be throwing a state banquet for his Indian counterpart. President Pranab will also be meeting Israeli PM Benjamin Natanyahu, head of the opposition Yitzhak Herzog and the speaker of the house.
