New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday declared that President’s Rule in Uttarakhand will continue till it pronounces judgment on Centre’s appeal against state high court’s decision.
The top court order implied that there will be no floor test in the assembly on April 29 as mandated by the earlier Uttarakhand high court order.
Arguments by the Centre and the Congress in the case will commence on May 3 and conclude by May 6. Earlier today the apex court posed seven questions related to the March 27 imposition of President’s rule in Uttarakhand and sought the Centre’s answers to them.
The Uttarakhand High Court had on April 21 set aside President’s rule that was imposed in the state by the Centre on March 27.
