Kolkata: Indian president Pranab Mukherjee arrives in Kolkata on Saturday morning on a three-day visit to West Bengal. He will inaugurate the 185th Anniversary of Calcutta Chamber of Commerce this evening and also formally open the painting exhibition of Shahbuddin Ahmed in the city.
The state governor Keshrinath Tripathi and state minister Purnendo Basu welcome him in DumDum Airport on morning.
He will also grace the concluding function of 125th Birth Anniversary celebration of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. On Monday, the President will deliver the Indira Gandhi Memorial Lecture at the Asiatic Society in Kolkata before leaving for Murshidabad.
In the afternoon, President Mukherjee will attend the prize distribution ceremony of KKM Memorial Gold Cup Rural Football Tournament at Jangipur.
