Kolkata: President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday landed in Kolkata for a two day Bengal visit. He landed at Dum Dum airport and was received by Governor Kesarinath Tripathi, chief secretary Basudev Banerjee and minister Purnendu Bose.
The president arrived at the airport around 03:00 pm on a special plane of Indian Air Force. The president went to the Rajbhwan and will spend the night there. He is scheduled to take a tour of South 24 Parganas and Nadia tomorrow. He will return to Delhi tomorrow evening.
Security has been beefed up in the city for the President’s visit. Security has also been beefed up in the Dum Dum airport and special police teams have been deployed. CCTV cameras have been installed and helicopters have also been deployed for the President’s security.
