New Delhi: Modernisation of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will turn it into an even more potent and strategic force which can take on all future challenges, said President and Commander-in-Chief Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, on the eve of its 84th anniversary.
He said that entire nation was proud of the capabilities and competence of the IAF.
“Over the last eight decades, the IAF has emerged as an immensely professional and combat ready force. It has achieved distinction in defending our skies and delivering vital humanitarian aid and disaster relief,” Mr Mukherjee said.
He also said that all ranks of the IAF needed to be congratulated by a grateful nation for discharging their duty with courage, determination and competence.
“I am confident that the ongoing process of modernisation will transform the IAF into an even more potent and strategic force that can take on all future challenges. I am sure that the IAF will remain ever vigilant in protecting our skies and continue to maintain its cherished standards of excellence,” he said.
The president also greeted the families of the Indian Air Force personnel, thanking them for their sacrifices and support for those who defend the country.
