Bankura: Indian Postal department on Tuesday published a new first-day cover worth Rs 20 with the picture of Dalmadal cannon from Bishnupur’s Jadubhatta Stage. The programme of Indian postal department is named Mallabhum Pix.
Postmaster general of South S. Ranjan, State Minister Shyamal Santra and DM Manas Mandal were also present in this ceremony.
Postmaster General S.Ranjan said that Bishnupur is a historic place of the West Bengal. he also hoped that this first day cover with stamp would be appreciated among people of Bankura.
Stamp collector Ishita Basu and Saptashu Basu from Kolkata told that the significance of stamps did not end because it upholds the culture of West Bengal.
Dalmadol cannon represents the glory of Malla Kings of Bishnupur. This initiative helps tourists to know the history of Bishnupur. A drawing competition and quiz competition were also held on that day.
The Indian postal department announced that people of Bishnupur will get passport services from now in Bishnupur.
