Kolkata: Violence after the assembly results still continue in West Bengal. Tension spread in Beleghata on Friday night when suspected TMC goons set on fire, a CPM activist’s house.
It has been reported that hundreds of TMC activists went on a rampage on Friday night and attacked a CPM activist’s house. The CPM activist Samir Dey lives in Beleghata and which falls under ward number 33. According to sources, the TMC men first ransacked Samir’s house and then beat up Samir and his wife. After attacking Samir and his wife, they set their house on fire. As a result, chaos and tension sparked in the area.
According to Samir’s son, on 19th May after the results were declared, bombs were thrown at their house from the victory rally of TMC. The same incident was repeated on Friday night allegedly by TMC workers. A member of the SFI, Souryadip Dey said that 4 TMC workers beat up his ailing mother in front of the police officers. Feared and scared, Souryadip left his house. He has even accused that the TMC goons have threatened to kill him. But the TMC party has denied all such allegations.
