Howrah: The first Sunday has been utilized quite well by all parties regarding their poll campaigning. Election is near, so no one is ready to lose their precious time to woo voters. Today, candidates have immersed themselves from morning to meet their voters. From left to right—all political parties and their members clogged all roads on this holiday.
Pratima Dutta, member of ‘Aamra Aakranta’ forum, is contesting polls as an independent candidate supported by left from Domjur. Pratima campaigned all morning walking through the roads of her constituency. She met local residents to know about their grievances. Pratima said, “I’m not new into politics! My late husband, Tapan Dutta was TMC leader, I learned politics from him. I’m into politics, because I want to fulfill my husband’s dream. My aim is to develop Domjur. I want to free this constituency from the clutches of murder and dacoity!”
Soumendunath Bera is CPM’s face in Bally this time. He made all efforts to meet the voters today while walking down the various roads of his constituency. Soumendunath said, “The TMC Government has done nothing for this area, the state went more backward in these five years; our fight is to save this state!”
Laxmiratan Shukla, former star Cricketer, is fighting election from North Howrah assembly as a TMC candidate. Laxmi waded through the roads of Ward no.6 of Howrah Corporation in his feet; he got introduced to his voters. Later, He also took part in a party workers meeting.
