Policeman Shot By Terrorist In J&K’s Anantnag

Srinagar: A policeman was on Monday shot by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The cop has received critical injuries in the attack and his treatment is undergoing.

A manhunt has also been launched to nab the terrorists who fled from the scene after shooting the policeman from a close range.

An official said that ASI Peer Abdul Rashid was injured after gunmen fired at him in Mehendi Kadal area. He was shifted to District Hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

As part of an all-out operation against militants in south Kashmir, the security forces have search operations in Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama districts during the last two months.
