Jalpaiguri: BJP leader and MLA Shamik Bhattacharya has said that there would be no place for anyone in the party if he/she has any connection with the Saradha Scam. Speaking on the Municipal elections, he said that the Governor should think over the peaceful conduction of polls keeping in mind the deteriorating law and order condition in the state. He said these on being questioned about the Saradha case and the upcoming Municipal elections.
He also alleged that the State Police is functioning as a wing of the ruling Trinamool Congress. Though CPI (M) occupies the position of the opposition party, BJP is leading in terms of voicing their protest against the ruling TMC. He said, “People are rapidly coming to BJP, but those who are involved with Saradha will find no place in the Party.” He also claimed that the power of BJP is on a rise in the state.
He said that BJP will not only put up candidates for the Municipal elections but will also come up with good results. When asked whether it is possible to conduct the elections with the state forces he said that in TMC regime violence is spreading in many polling booths and many political party’s supporters are being injured or killed.
