New Delhi: Taking its ongoing probe into the Sunanda Pushkar death case forward, the Delhi Police on Monday issued a notice to former Union Minister and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor for questioning.
Confirming the development, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said, “A notice has been issued to Shashi Tharoor under Section 160 of CrPC. Tharoor may be quizzed within the next few days.”
Sunanda Pushkar, 52, was found dead in a south Delhi hotel on January 17, 2014. The Delhi Police had lodged a murder case on January 01 this year, two days after getting the final autopsy report from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Soon after lodging the FIR (first information report), the SIT questioned Tharoor`s domestic help.
They also questioned two family friends and Indira Gandhi International airport staff members who reportedly witnessed an alleged heated argument between Tharoor and Pushkar after their arrival from Kerala two days before her death.
