Annyatama Das, Kolkata: A huge pandemonium broke out at the Khardah station on Monday. The train services were halted or rather stopped at the Kahardah station for over 3 hours as the local passengers protested over lowering the number of ladies' special bogies in the local trains. They also protested of trains getting canceled at the busy hours of work. According to the passengers and a few locals, a child has also been claimed to lose his life in the ongoing lathicharge and pelting of stones between the passengers and the police (however, not confirmed). Some of the local passengers have been seriously injured in the stone battle and have claimed that the police have lathicharged in a random manner only to take things out of control. Some have even said that the police have used tear gas to bring things under control. The incident has affected the normal trail services in the main line of Sealdah, No comments have been made on the part of the Eastern Railway.
