Barrackpore: The residents of Barrackpore area will see Puja in surveillance. This arrangement is being provided by police to visitors outside Pujo pandals.
Barrackpore Police commissionerate held a meeting with the Pujo Committees of Barrackpore industrial area on Thursday. After that Barrackpore CP Rajesh Kumar Singh organized a meeting with journalists at Barakpur Sukanta Sadan .
Barrackpore Police Commissionerate has 13 police stations. There are 1430 Durga-pujos in those 13 police stations. All Pujo Committee members were present on the occasion. Each of them was given Rs 10 thousand by the state government.
CP Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “We are taking all security measures in the days of Durgapujo. Additional police are being arranged. About two thousand police this year will be in the streets during puja. Traffic system will be kept in place for 24 hours. We have drawn out the traffic map. We will pay a lot of attention where there will be more people gathering.”
At the same time he said that they asked big pujo committees to install CC cameras. Special training women police will be there for the eve teaser. Those who are mixed with the crowd. Police have requested the Committees to arrange toilets in adjacent areas of Puja Mandap.
He also added, “The metal detectors are being arranged. Our Intelligence Department will keep an eye on all important areas. Also, a WhatsApp application has been introduced to 9874447929 for the general public.”
