‘Shaktimaan’ Is No More

Dehradoon: The 14 year old police horse named Shaktimaan passed away on Wednesday. Shaktimaan’s hind leg was brutally fractured after the horse was allegedly attacked by BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi during a protest in Dehradun.

A team of 10 doctores performed a five hour long surgery. Despite several attempts, the horse could not stand on its own. He even stopped eating after the surgery.

The injured limb of Shaktimaan was amputated on Thursday as it was causing a threat to his life. According to Uttarakhand Director General of Police B.S. Sidhu the amputation was “unavoidable and urgent”.

“The opinion of the doctors was that Shaktimaan might lose its life by Friday morning due to spread of gangrene, if the amputation is not done. That is why we decided to go for amputation. It was diagnosed that the blood circulation to the injured part of leg, had stopped,” Mr. Sidhu told The Hindu on phone.

But all in vain. Shaktimaan passed away on Wednesday. Uttarkhand’s BJP chief Ajay Bhatt, has blamed the BJP government. He said “Saddened. The State Government is to be blamed for Shaktimaan’s death, the medical treatment was inadequate.
