Srinagar: Police arrested separatist leader and JKLF chief Yasin Malik and Swami Agnivesh during a rally at Srinagar on Saturday.
Earlier the day, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front(JKLF) chief Yasin Malik had started a 30-hour long hunger strike against the government’s supposed rehabilitation programme for Kashmiri Pandits. He wants them to return to their original homes in the valley.
“We won’t allow separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits. We want them to stay with other communities,” JKLF chief said.
Kashmir was rocked by violent protest on Saturday and a 15 year boy died in police firing.
On the other hand Swami Agnivesh has sparked fresh controversy by sharing stage with separatist leader Yasin Malik on Saturday. As per the reports Agnivesh endorsed the separatist view and was arrested along with Malik by the police.
