Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Shinzo Abe have laid the foundation stone of the inauguration of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed rail project in Sabarmati, Gujarat.
Firstly, Modi thanked the workers, supporters of Japan and India who are working and will work towards but the project of the bullet train.
“On 75 years of India’s independence around the year 2022-23, wish that both PM Shinzo Abe and I inaugurate the bullet train,” he said.
Technology plays a big role in development in a country’s progress. “If technology is used to empower the poor we can win the fight against poverty,” he said.
Parallely, PM Modi was all praises for Shinzo Abe for his contribution and support in bringing the project to life and contributing to India’s railway development.
“Due to this project, the relations between the two countries will grow stronger. This bullet train will bring a big change and will save people’s time,” he added.He said that this project will bring Ahmedabad-Mumbai into single economic zone. “This will help the country et pace,” he added.
“If one says take loan and return it in 50 yrs, is it believable? But Japan is such a friend, they gave us loan of 88,000 crore at 0.1% interest,” he said.
More productivity with high speed connectivity is the new motto for the prime minister. “Transport system is of prime importance for a nation’s development. Now the next generation growth will happen at places where there are high speed corridors,” he said.
Modi speaks at ceremony”I, once again, welcome Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to India and Gujarat,” said Modi.
The expansion of dreams can take a country and society to new heights, he added.
“Bullet train project will be convenient and safe and will bring in employment and speed. Today is a historic and emotional day for Japan and India’s relation. Japan has shown that it is India’s strong partner,” he said.
