PM Emphasizes Football In ‘Mann Ki Baat’


New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the 18th edition of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on Sunday it was important to take football to every village in the country.

The Election Commission earlier gave a nod to the radio broadcast with instructions that it should adhere to the Model Code of Conduct in force due to assembly polls in five states.

Here are highlights of Modi’s address:

  • If the citizens of my country are healthy, then India will also be healthy
  • A few days ago there was TB day. To fight TB you need correct and complete treatment
  • World TB day was observed on March 24. We are not scared of this disease anymore because we know that it is curable
  • April 7 is the World Health Day and this year its theme is diabetes
  • Our lifestyle is the biggest reason of rising cases of diabetes
  • Water conservation is something all of us need to work on and everyone should be connected to a People’s Movement to conserve water
  • Water level is going down gradually; we should work to conserve water

  • This is a very important time for farmers. All of us have to think about one thing and that is water conservation
