New Delhi: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed sadness over the loss of lives due to the bomb explosion in Ankara.
“Saddened by the loss of lives due to the bomb explosion in Ankara. Condolences to families of deceased and prayers with injured”, the Prime Minister said.
At least two powerful bomb blasts near Ankara’s main train station rocked the Turkish capital Saturday morning killing at least 86 people and injuring 186. The blast was reported by the semiofficial Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s largest news outlet, and by a witness who telephoned CNN.
The witness told CNN there were two blasts, and they were so powerful they rocked nearby highrise buildings. Turkey, which at first avoided any conflict with the terrorist group ISIS, recently changed its stance and allowed the U.S. to launch anti-ISIS strikes from a Turkish airbase.
