PIl Filed in HC Over ‘Drug’ Fiasco in Schools

Tamluk: Public interest litigation has been filed in Calcutta High court on Thursday, over the drug crisis in many schools in the states. A lawyer named Abu Sohel filed PIl in Calcutta High court against state. He wants impartial investigation in this case.

Around 500 children in three districts of West Bengal on Wednesday fell sick after being administered deworming tablets. The Chief Health officer of Howrah on Thursday said that all children’s health is stabilized and they will be kept under observation.

Two hundred children have been admitted to hospitals in the three districts of South and North 24-Parganas and East Midnapore with symptoms of pain in the abdomen, vertigo and vomiting. All schools are shut down on Thursday due to this case.
