New Delhi: Petrol prices on Tuesday were cut by 50 paise per litre while diesel rates were lowered by 46 paise per litre.
“The current level of international product prices of petrol & diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant a decrease in prices, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision,” said Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the country’s biggest fuel retailer.
Revised prices will take effect from the midnight of Tuesday and Wednesday.
After this revision, petrol prices in the metro cities will be: Delhi – Rs 59.98/litre; Kolkata – Rs 65.53/litre; Mumbai – Rs 67.04/litre, and Chennai – Rs 60.28/litre. Diesel prices will be: Delhi – Rs 46.09/litre; Kolkata – Rs 49.70/litre; Mumbai – Rs 53.28/litre, and Chennai – Rs 47.28/litre.
