Amaravati: PepsiCo on ‘Good Friday’ started its journey in the deccan region as the major beverage company inaugurated its manufacturing facility at Sri City located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The Sri City SEZ is located about 65 km from Chennai is home to over 100 units, which include FMCG companies, Japanese automotive units, toy firms, and pharma companies.
The PepsiCo unit would be another major addition in Sri City which is already a host to US major Kelloggs, Italian coffee maker Lavazza, and the upcoming unit of Cadbury.
The Chief Minister is likely to inaugurate nine operational units on the same day which includes HunterDouglas, West Pharma, ZTT, Kusakabe and Nittan Valve.
