Kolkata: After registering a land slide electoral victory in Bidhannagar, Bali and Asansol Municipal polls, Trinamool general secretary Partha Chatterjee on Saturday addressing the media at Trinamool Bhavan said that, people have voted for development.
He said, “The civil society and people at large have reposed their faith on Trinamool in the Corporation Election. We are thankful to the people for placing their trust on TMC. Our responsibilities have increased now.”
Lashing out at opposition parties Partha said, People have democratically rejected the politics of disruption, violence and bandhs. They have voted for development. Praising Mamata Banerjee he said that eople have witnessed widespread development in the last four years. Support for Mamata Banerjee is surging.
Despite all the effort made by the ruling Trinamool party to make it sound sweet, a pang remains as the October 3 civic polls saw utter violence allegedly by the goons of TMC and the development aftermath leading to the resignation of State Election Commissioner Sushanta Ranjan Upadhyay and repolls in 11 booths in Bidhannagar and bali.
