Peepli Live co-director arrested on rape charges


New Delhi: Mahmood Farooqui, the husband of film director Anusha Rizvi has been arrested on the charges of rape. He has been sent to Six days of Judicial Custody.

A complaint was filed against the Peepli Live co-director by an US woman on June 19 in South Delhi’s New Friends Colony Police Station. He was arrested on that day itself and produced before court which sent him a judicial custody of six days.

Farooqui has been charged under section 376 of the IPC. He was the co-director of Bollywood movie Peepli Live which was directed by his wife Anusha Rizvi and produced by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.
