PDP Leader’s Body Found In Anantnag Village


Srinagar: Body of a 45-year-old panch of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was found in a mysterious conditions near his residence in Shangus area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police officer told news agency that body of Shabir Ahmad Wani s/o Abdul Rehman of Wakeelbalan, Nowgam, Shangus was found at some distance from his residence, some hours after he had left home to see construction of his new house in the area.

The police officer said that there is a visible axe mark on his head and police has registered a case to look into the matter.

He said that it could be premature to say whether he was killed by militants or there is other rivalry involved.
