Guwahati: India’s badminton sensations Saina Nehwal and P.V Sindhu will face-off each other in the inaugural encounter of Premier Badminton League (PBL) third edition. The match will kick-start proceedings in Guwahati as PBL makes its debut in north-east.
Saina and Sindhu have faced each other three times before with Sindhu having upper hand over her senior countrywomen having 2-1 record against her. However, Saina had the last laugh when these two met last time in the final of Sr National Badminton Championships.
Both the Hyderabadi girls are icon for Indian badminton. Coached by Pullela Gopichand, both Saina and Sindhu have won laurels for the country at Olympics, the biggest sports stage.
This encounter would be played in 15-point format where it will be a sudden death at 14-14. World number 3 Kidambi Srikanth, Parupalli Kashyap and B Sumeeth Reddy would also be in the frame on Saturday.
