Mumbai: The Coast Guard on Monday said the wreckage of a crashed Pawan Hans chopper has been located and the body of one of the two pilots was also recovered from the cockpit off Mumbai coast.
A Pawan Hans Chopper with two pilots on board crashed into the Arabian Sea and minutes after takeoff from an ONGC platform on November 4.
Earlier, the defense sources said the chances of their survival were “bleak” even as Navy and Coast Guard continued their search and rescue operation.
Pawan Hans Limited is a government owned company with 46 helicopters in its fleet. It primarily provides helicopter support services to the oil sector for its off-shore exploration operations and services in remote and hilly areas and charter services to promote tourism.
