Sudarshan Pays Tribute To Uri Martyrs Through Sand Sculpture


Bhubaneshwar: Renowned Indian sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik paid tribute to the 18 soldiers martyred in the recent Uri attack through his sand work.

Current events are reflected through his unique art form. This time he honoured the martyred soldiers. Along with the honour, he has even sought to spread world peace through his masterpiece. pattnaik2His sculpture, says, “We Salute Our Heroes, Life Of Each of Our Martyrs Is PRICELESS.”

Sudarshan, who hails from Odisha, has been sculpting images on sand since he was seven and has sculpted hundreds till today. His sculptures, potray, environmental crisis, famous festivals, national integrity and religious tolerance.

For his excellent work, he has received awards, namely, “People of the Year 2009” Limca book of Records honoured as on the occasion of 20th edition of Limca Book; and “National Tourism award 2005-2006” for most innovative tourism project by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. India.

His sand sculpture on Black Taj Mahal earned him accolades all over the world. He has won many national and international awards for his creative designs and has recorded his name in the World records. He was Awarded Padma Shri in 2014.
