Jalpaiguri: Five railway passengers were arrested by the GRP for traveling without tickets in the train at Jalpaiguri town railway station on Friday. The other 18 women and men were fined. This special operation was carried at Jalpaiguri station today and the New Jalpaiguri station magistrate Gaurav Sen led this special operation.The search was on to nab the passengers who travel without ticket.
There are still lot of passengers who travel in the train without tickets, and this special operation has proved that, claimed the railway department. On this day, railway magistrate Gaurav Sen reached Jalpaiguri station through Siliguri-Haldibari passenger train. He returned in Haldibari-Siliguri passenger train again.
According to railway sources, a total of Rs 13,080 was collected from 18 passengers. It is also known that such operations will be again carried out in future.
